Dealing
with the Conflict That Comes From Diversity
An in-depth,
behaviorally based training focusing on appreciation, recognition and
utilization of all forms of human diversity within the workplace. While
the specific content of the material is dependent upon familiarization
with your organization, it is highly likely that the training will include:
Development of a shared working definition of cultural competency;
Examination of the dynamics of inclusion and marginalization;
Exploration of conflict management, which is inevitable when
different perspectives collide;
Skills for dealing with differences in world view, life experiences,
language and perspective;
Recognition of personal life experiences filters
and the manner in which they affect ones perception and behavior;
Examination of workplace culture and those things that help or
hinder fully realizing cultural competency.
Additionally,
training could be tailored to meet the needs of specific groups. For example,
employees dealing directly with customers may need different or additional
skills than organizational leaders who are responsible for managing aspects
of organizational culture that enhance or impede best management practices.
